New ship for Holland America Line fleet

The 4th July 2010 saw the official dedication service of the latest Holland America Line ship, ms Nieuw Amsterdam.

While still in Venice the day long celebration began with an unprecedented gathering. Captains representing every ship in the Holland America Line fleet arrived at the Nieuw Amsterdam bearing their ship's flag and assembled at the bow of the ship.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the ceremony as the ships godmother and was in charge of the official bottle breaking.
