Courses

Viking is able to offer the following MCA, STCW accredited courses:

• Crisis Management and Human Behaviour for Passenger Vessels
• Crowd Management for Passenger Vessels
• ISPS Ship Security Officer

These three courses are classroom based and can be conducted either at Viking House or at a location of your choice. All are taught by our in-house Marine Training Consultant.

Course Aims

Crisis Management & Human Behaviour (for passenger vessels) STCW A-V/2

Duration: 1 day
Fee: £225
Course Dates for 2012: 23 Jan, 13 Feb, 19 Mar, 23 Apr, 28 May, 25 Jun, 24 Sept

To increase awareness of persons responsible for the safety of passengers in an emergency situation with particular reference to:

• Shipboard emergency procedures;
• The optimum use of resources;
• A controlled response to emergencies;
• The control of passengers and other personnel during emergency situations; and the establishment and maintenance of effective communications.

Crowd Management (for passenger vessels) STCW A-V/2

Duration: ½day

• To increase awareness of crew members to probable reactions of passengers in an emergency situation;
• To provide information about improved passenger communication and control techniques; and
• To encourage best practice in embarking, disembarking and the general handling of passengers with special reference to passengers with special needs.

ISPS Ship Security Officer (SSO) STCW A-VI/5

Duration: 3 days

To provide SSO's with a better understanding of:

• The ISPS Code
• The roles and responsibilities of the SSO
• Guidance on the application of the ISPS Code
• Guidance on the development of appropriate training programs for use onboard ship.

All attendees will receive a light lunch and full refreshments throughout the day.
